The Basic Omelette

Ingredients

  • 3 Eggs
  • Knob of butter
  • Salt and pepper
  • Chives
  • Directions

  • Break 3 eggs into a bowl and whisk while adding a pinch of salt and white pepper.
  • Heat a 25cm (10inch) nonstick pan over medium heat and add knob of butter. When the butter has melted and begins to sizzle, pour in the egg mixture. Using a spatula, fold the edges of the egg into the center as it cooks.
  • When the eggs are nearly cooked flip one side over the other and remove the pan from the heat. Gently slide the cooked omelette onto a plate and serve.
  • Garnish with a salad of your choice and sprinkle with chives
  • Tips: If you wish you could make filled omelette's by adding some grated cheese and maybe chopped tomato.
