Want to know how to cook perfect mashed potatoes?
Who else to ask than Heston Blumenthal – founder of the acclaimed Fat Duck restaurant, and star of numerous TV shows including Heston's Feasts.
Here he is, staring intently into your soul, as if to say: I know you ate a cupcake for lunch, instead of salad*. Shame on you.
Anyway, for the uninitiated, Heston is a chef who ...

What is a pyrolytic oven?
A pyrolytic oven features an ‘automatic’ cleaning function that dramatically reduces your oven cleaning time. Pyrolytic cleaning heats the inside of your oven to temperatures upwards of 400°C, reducing grease and food residue to ash. Once the oven returns to a safe temperature and unlocks itself, this ash can be simply wiped away.

Do you feel like this?
December, you fiend! I was once a young nymph, floating golden-skinned through fields of barley – but now I am a corpulent old woman, lying alone in a dumpster full of empty Dorito packets and feral cats, reflecting bitterly on my wasted life. *sobs reproachfully*
...Strangely enough, my diet of butter, ham, and brandy has not produced the trim, toned body I had ...

Why is it that the words "chef" and "abusive" are so synonymous? The guys (and they're invariably male) doing the rottweiler-on-crack routine. Throwing the f-bomb around with the wanton abandonment of a sprinkler system. Behaving with all the serenity and decency of someone with a c-clamp permanently attached to their nipples.
Then there's the by-product of this behaviour: the drinking, the drugs. Oh, and the endless tabloid ...

One of the complaints frequently thrown at celebrity chefs is that the ingredients they use are often prohibitively expensive (activated almonds, anyone?). The same goes for the fancy appliances they just happen to have installed in their kitchen (not to mention an entourage of assistants paid to clean up after they've finished using them) that are perfectly affordable for anyone with their own television show, but ...

Blogging for Appliances Online, you’ll inevitably find yourself having to trace the odd stock photo. Some, you know, generic image when you haven’t personally had the time to take a picture of a pregnant woman drinking scotch while she loads a dishwasher (for that article about some safety feature or other).
We’re amazed - read delighted - at the amount of ridiculous awful or just plain weird ...

One of the best parts of travel is eating. It's great because what might be regarded as 'greedy' in your normal life is suddenly transformed into a studious act of cultural education while abroad. And hey, in some countries, it's downright rude to refuse food! So it's best you eat those eleven croissants, no matter how much it may pain you to eat large quantities of ...

Kitchens aren’t solely food storage and preparation zones - they're also spaces in our homes where we socialise and entertain family and friends. Thus, it's important for our kitchens to have some personality, so they can be attractive as well as functional.
Some of us prefer to give our kitchens an ultra-modern look, with stainless steel appliances covered in electronic controls, though others may find this all a bit cold and soulless.
Some of us prefer ...
